Best money I've spent a long time
I recently bought my TX-SR608 to upgrade my aging Denon AVR-465. Since I looked at Yamaha long time and is considering buying one when I found the Onkyo here and the price was unbeatable.
I was renovating my home theater system. I took off BluRay player and replace it with a HTPC setup with Blu-Ray in order to save my collection of media on my network. Onkyo Once you enter the process Installation was fairly easy and very intuitive.

Very nice package
The main reason that changed my Harmon Kardon receiver because the HK does not have HDMI ports. Apart from that, the HK is an amazing system. I chose the largest number of other Onkyo receivers because it has a port HDMI on the front panel – handy for connecting a laptop. It seems that this should be common to all new receivers, but few have this feature. One thing I noticed immediately when testing the Onkyo is to press two buttons to turn off the receiver – the "receiver" and then the button on/0ff – a bit of a disadvantage but not the end of the world.
Although this receiver has an incredible array of functions (all of which have proven to be very good), I have not noticed while connecting all entries do not change or unswitched 110 points of sale. Each receiver has had it before and I use the premises changed in my Harmon Kardon receiver to power a digital temperature controller. The controller makes a small fan is placed behind a plasma TV to push the hot air that accumulates in a cavity behind the TV. It is very convenient to have the power when the old unit has been activated. I know what Onkyo points missed but I know now to find this function, next time I looked for a receiver.
Total is a very good receiver for the money.

Great features for the price
I bought this camera to replace my Pioneer Elite VSX33TX. I purchased mainly because the number HDMI port, but also a function of conversion.
I can not say enough about the recipient. Installation was easy using the microphone included (provided you have a tripod). The sound is excellent. This unit is the price if only to convert function. My TV has an HDMI port if it had all kinds of cables connected to the receiver and the TV. When he had finished he had a connection to the TV and everything is a single HDMI cable to the receiver. Now I am tempted to go for a 1080p LED TV now!

I also like the idea of fewer cables means less spaghetti in my audio cabinet. As I am no techie, I'm sure I'm using only a fraction of its potential. The remote is easy to use and sync with my cable remote and my wife and my children have found the solution to how to operate. I put the Onkyo in my cart and realized after a week the price dropped and tax-free, I think I saved about $ 75 and has free shipping.

Excellent and very intuitive
This receiver is awesome. The sound quality and incredible ease of installation is very large. I bought a Denon and Sony, and both were difficult to install and skip audio and video quality compared with this Onkyo. I have my HD projector and PS3 connected to her and she recognized the PS3 no problem. Super clear sound and picture quality seems even better my blu ray.

Perfect for old CRT 1080i
This receptor is wonderful. It scales 480P Component (Wii), 1080i VGA (Xbox 360) and 720P HDMI (PS3) HDMI 1080i sources and gives a boost to my Mitsubishi WS-73 909 HDTV, a CRT 480P/1080i only. The Onkyo TX-SR608 has a great sound, great features and it offers great bang for the buck. I did a lot of research and could not be happier with my decision.
