ps3 component cable resolution
How I can increase the resolution of my PS3 to play games and blu-ray?

I have a Playstation 3 and now connected to my Toshiba HD 32 " through component video cables supplied with the system. I know that I can not get the full capabilities of HD without HDMI cable but I thought that component video cables can support resolutions up to 720p? That is what my HDTV, but when I try to set the PS3 display not even 720p or 480p are compatible with your TV. However, the 480i. Am I stupid? I would appreciate any help. What should I do gradual change my PS3? If the component that only goes up to 480p, so how I can make it use the resolution progressive rather than interlaced (480i)? I ask because I read that progressive is much better than interlaced.

Here's the deal with the component, if the source is SD, the best we can do is 480p if the source is HD, the best we can do is 720p other words, SD upconversion only works with HDMI cables
