PS3 isn’t turning on? 10 PTS!!!?
Hey, so I have the 1st generation 80GB big PS3, its about 3-4 years old. I went to turn it on everything was fine, I left the room for a second to grab something, then I came back it was off. I went to turn it back on and the red light turned to the stand by color (yellow), then red light came back on and beeped and flashed. I’ve retried several times, but the same thing continues to happen. I tried replugging everything, adjusting the cords, tried hold it down for a reset, I even gave it a good outer clean.
Please help me, it is very important for many reasons. A) My friend’s game is in the system. B) I put important image files for my work on my Playstation. C) I was playing on having a movie night tonight, using Netflix on my playstation, people are coming over! D) I just really love my playstation.
PLEASE, ANY ADVICE OR SUGGESTION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU!
I am sorry to have to inform you this but you have Yellow Light Of Death (YLOD)
YLOD is when the solder on the Motherboard(MB) cracks disconnecting it from the main parts of you’re PS3. You have 2 options
1) Get someone at a specialist electronics shop to solder it for you (These repairs are only TEMPORARY). I got YLOD and got my MB soldered then traded it in because temporary solding only lasts 2-6 weeks
2)Trade it in un-repaired which will mean you will get next to nothing for your Very-Expensive Paperweight
A)If you get a Temp Solder done you can retreive your game.
B)^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ you can retreive the files by putting them onto a USB drive
C)I’m sorry man but that aint going to happen

it doesnt need a stand if usee where i put it ,its very safe and secure for no one to knock it over and has ventilation space so it wont overheat.
DID U Know: did u ever notice that in wal-mart, eb games PS3 and Xbox are vertical? are they very durable?
Vertical standing is to reduce heat. It will not damage the system if you lay it down it can overheat faster but if you can keep it cool or if you have like a rack type stand that has holes underneath it won’t matter.
