Ps3 Console Is A Great Game Machine And Some Other Nice Touches

Honestly this one of the best pieces of electronic equipment I’ve ever purchased. It seems pricey still at 399 but once you play around with it for awhile you understand why. It’s such an elegant machine. The build quality is immaculate and the on screen menu (XMB) is smooth and professional. The old complaint that “it doesn’t have enough games” no longer applies. There are many great games out now and more exciting titles on the way, like Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time and God of War 3.

Setting it up to connect wirelessly to my router was a breeze. It has built in wifi. There are quite a few nice little things you can do. I set up my PC as a server, which is very easy to do, and I can basically see my entire C: drive on the PS3 Console menu, and really cool is how the PS3 Console can read .avi and other movie files. Just click on the .avi file on the XMB menu and it plays it. No need to insert a converted and burned disc in the PS3 Console. How cool is that. Want to view all your pictures on your tv and listen to all your music that’s on your computer? It’s all there. Recently they updated the firmware with a nice new photo viewer. It’s an excellent media center if you’re into that.

If not it has great games to play. Another nice thing is the free Playstation Network. I’ve spent a lot of time browsing stuff on here. Tons of free demos, game preview videos, interviews with developers, the free biweekly magazine Pulse and quite a few good games. There are casual games if you need something lighter, your Bejeweled type games. There are also more serious games like Wipeout HD and one of my favorites Super Stardust HD. The standard price for games is 9.99, but some are a few dollars more or a few less. There are movies to buy or rent too, but I haven’t done that yet. The general consensus is that X-Box Live is better right now. However, I’m satisfied with the PS Network Store, expect for one thing, the text and pictures are a little too small.

Another feature is the browser. It’s basic but functional and usable when you get used to it, and it nice to see the web on your HDTV if you have one. As an example I could have easily written this review from it, but I don’t have an extra usb keyboard. It could use some work though, like updates to various plug-ins. It does support flash though and can play Youtube videos and Hulu.

A quick little complaint is the usb cord that comes with it is too short, it’s about four and half feet. So if you’re charging the wireless controller it’s hard to play games. I bought a ten foot cord for about 3 dollars to solve that. As many others have said, it doesn’t play PS2 games. But after playing current-gen games it’s hard to go back so it doesn’t really bother me. I’ve only watched two movies on the blu-ray player and they looked great. Eventually I’m going to upgrade the hard-drive because I am running out of room. There are other cool little things I didn’t mention but a new owner will discover them. So overall I’m very happy with the PS3 Console. It’s a fine piece of equipment providing many hours of entertainment.

ps3 motion controller release

Playstation 3 Motion Control

Sony Computer Entertainment recently announced that PlayStationMove motion controller for PlayStation 3 launches worldwide this fall, offering a motion-based, high-definition gaming experience unlike anything on the market.

Concurrently with its launch, Sony will also release PlayStationMove sub-controller to be used along with the motion controller for intuitive navigation of in-game characters and objects. The PlayStation Move platform, including the motion controller, sub-controller, and PlayStationEye camera (required for use), together with a strong lineup of software titles, will deliver an innovative and highly immersive experience on the PS3 system.

The combination of the PS3 system and PlayStation Eye camera detects the precise movement, angle, and absolute position in 3D space of PlayStation Move motion controller, allowing users to intuitively play the game as if they themselves are within the game. PlayStation Move motion controller delivers unmatched accuracy through its advanced motion sensors, including a three-axis gyroscope, a three-axis accelerometer, and a terrestrial magnetic field sensor, as well as a color-changing sphere that is tracked by PlayStation Eye camera.

Through the PlayStation Move system, both fast and subtle motion can be detected, whether the user is swinging a tennis racket, or painting with a brush. With PlayStation Move motion controller, users can provide direct input through action buttons and an analog trigger, while receiving physical feedback from rumble functionality and visual feedback from the sphere’s ability to display a variety of different colors. Furthermore, PlayStation Eye camera can capture the player’s voice or image, enabling augmented reality experiences.

The newly announced PlayStation Move sub-controller is a one-handed controller, developed to further expand the game play options that PlayStation Move games can offer (Dualshock and Sixaxis can replace the controller).

PlayStation Move sub-controller features a sleek curved design that pairs with the motion controller and comes with an analog stick and directional buttons that allow users to easily control the game when moving characters or choosing a direction. Like all other Wireless Controllers for the PS3 system, it comes with a built in lithium-ion rechargeable battery as well as Bluetooth technology, enabling the controller to transfer the input information wirelessly to the PS3 system without a cable. PlayStation Move motion controller and sub-controller will further broaden the gaming experience on the PS3 system for all genres, from games that use one motion controller to games that use both controllers.

Over 36 publishers and developers have stated their support (Warner Bros announcing today that Aragorn’s Quest would be compatible at launch). Sony has stated they will have 20 1st party titles with support during the 2010 fiscal year.

Ps3 Consoles – Sony Ps3 Slim Puts Sony Back In The Game!

I originally wrote a review on the 60 gb PS3 right after it launched in November, 2006. Like the original 60 gb the new PS3 Consoles slim 120 gb is almost as good once you get past its few flaws. The new Playstation 3 has the same specifications as the previous model, but it’s 32% smaller, 36% lighter and 33% more energy-efficient than the regular PS3 Consoles. It sports a slightly different look and the touch buttons are now replaced with real buttons. I have to say the PS3 Consoles is one amazing system. One of the most welcome features is the PS3 Consoles Slims ability to bit stream both Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

As for the games we are finally starting to see the true potential of this amazing system. You get an amazing blu-ray player that is future proof thanks to the system being able to receive firmware updates via the web. If you have a 1080p HDTV you will be amazed at the picture quality which is up to six times more detailed than DVD. You also get theater quality sound and picture that DVD, cable, satellite HD, and even apple TV just can’t touch because of their bandwidth limitations. If you have standard DVDs the PS3 Consoles upscales them to 1080p which brings all your DVDs to life. Don’t expect blu-ray quality from watching DVDs, but do expect them to look much better and sharper because they are being upscaled to look better on your HDTV. I like the fact that the system has online connectivity and that it also has a built in browser should you just want to surf the internet.

Most of all I like the fact that you get built in wi-fi. if you all ready have internet access you just have to set this up with your wi-fi router, or if your lucky enough you might be able to pick up free wi-fi if you don’t have internet access. You can download your favorite music/videos to the PS3 Consoles hard drive and if available online it will display the artist names and songs. You can even connect a USB keyboard (along with almost any type of USB device) to make surfing the internet faster and more enjoyable. With the recently launched Playstation Store you can play demos, download classic PS1 and PS2 (and some new PS3 Consoles games) games, get wallpapers, and watch blu-ray and new movie trailers. With the new virtual world Home you can create a virtual character and explore the virtual world.

If your friends have a PS3 Consoles you can meet them in home and Play virtual Pool, bowling, or invite them in to a PS3 Consoles game to play with you. You can rent movies (some in HD) from an always growing catalog and purchase many of them. The things that this new PS3 Consoles Consoles lacks from the original 60 gb model is SACD support, it only has 2 USB vs. the 4 on the original. The top left part of this PS3 Consoles doesn’t open up like the old one because this one lacks the memory card slots. The good thing is that this PS3 Consoles is so much quieter and takes up less space than my original 60 gb because it uses a smaller chip which now makes it use less electricity. That was my biggest annoyance with the original PS3 Consoles was that it got a bit loud sometimes when watching movies or playing games which I felt a bit distracting. This new model is as quit as a mouse.

With video chat, internet access, digital photo viewing, and digital audio and video the PS3 Consoles will likely be your home entertainment centerpiece. I have to say I am very happy with giving the PS3 Consoles a chance and I highly recommend it for anyone who appreciates a great game system with some awesome entertainment features. With the new PS3 Consoles slim and a long overdue price cut SONY is back in the game, and with new games like Uncharted 2 and may other exclusives this is going to be the start of the new Playstation revolution. This system may be lacking some of the original PS3 Consoles 60 gb features, but it is still one awesome entertainment powerhouse that I highly recommend!

Whats bluetooth and how do i use it on my cell

Bluetooth is a popular feature of most modern cell phones, but really its a very powerful transmitting device which allows you to interact with all sorts of devices. Bluetooth is a radio transmission format which allows you to transfer files e.g ringtones , Movies, even voice over a short distance. Bluetooth is becoming more and more widespread, its now appearing in Cars, Laptops and games consoles such as the PS3 (ever wondered how the PS3′s remote works through a cabinet, well thats bluetooth)

So How do we use it, well first of all if you not using it constantly on your cell turn it of as nothing drains your battery quicker. Ok in this example were going to connect you cell phone to your laptop using bluetooth and we are going to send a file. So Assuming a basic knowledge of your phone, switch bluetooth on, make sure the visibility is shown to all (otherwise the laptop wont see it). You will its on by the appearance of the bluetooth symbol on the phone. Next start up your laptop. Go to Control Panel and choose Bluetooth devices, tick the box saying you device is setup and ready to be found and click next, your PC will search for all devices it can see nearby, no need to play eye spy anymore try this on a packed train and try and workout whose bluetooth name goes with which person.

Once your PC has identified you phone, select it and click next. The easiest way is to choose select my own passkey, enter 1234 click next and seconds later your phone will ask for the same passkey, enter it successfully (its only 4 digits its not that difficult) and the two devices become linked. You will use the same process for each bluetooth device you connect, so car stereos, wireless running watches even wireless headsets.

So the easy way to send a new ringtone or mobile wallpaper to your phone, carry out the steps above to connect the 2 devices, download the file to your pc and right click on the file, choose send to and select bluetooth device select the connected device and milliseconds later the files will be received
